    KT7A restarts during CD-ROM access

If the problem is non-Abit specific, then it's a 686B problem, not a KT133A problem. Anyway, I don't know if the problem is Abit specific, or if it's a general problem.

    KT7A restarts during CD-ROM access

I read that Abit and Creative are working on a solution, but I don't know when (or if!) that solution will be available. Maybe you have some old soundcard lying around?

    KT7A restarts during CD-ROM access

Ok, try this: remove your SB Live! (and drivers) and see if you still have the crashes. On another forum I read that it seems that an SB Live! in combination with a 686B southbridge can lead to PCI noise problems when transfering data from IDE1 to IDE2...

    Restarting problems with CUSL2-C motherboard

<< Nothing to do with the cold boot problem. This WILL fix your problem: You have an SBLive? Then you need to do the following, otherwise Win98 won't restart/shutdown properly: Enable LPT Interrupt Sharing in the SB Emulation Device in the device manager. Disable the DOS SB Emulation in the...

Problem with Kenwood 42x TrueX Cd-Rom and ASUS CUSL2-C MB

Not sure if it will fix anything, but do you have the latest firmware update for the Kenwood cdrom? You can find the latest one at http://www.kenwoodtech.com/firmware_42x.html

Need ADVICE... Just got two new CPUs, P3 866 and P3 800 FCPGA... need stable overclockable...

I can't tell you what PCI speed your cards can handle, because I just don't know :) However, you can try by starting at 133, and then incrementing by small steps and performing some (basic) tests, if Windows starts up. If you come to a setting that doesn't work anymore, take a step down. You...

Need ADVICE... Just got two new CPUs, P3 866 and P3 800 FCPGA... need stable overclockable...

The problem with a FSB of 133 is that you can make it higher, but the PCI bus speed will go up as well, and there's no option to alter the FSB/PCI divider. For example, if you go to 166 FSB, your PCI bus will be 41.5, which is pretty high. You can lower the speed of your memory (ie a ratio of...

Need ADVICE... Just got two new CPUs, P3 866 and P3 800 FCPGA... need stable overclockable...

The Asus CUSL2-C is a good board from what I hear: based on the Intel 815EP, good overclocking options (using jumpers or BIOS), and pretty stable. One thing to note though: it only supports up to 2 double-sided DIMMs. Only problem is that the EB PIIIs aren't really friendly overclockers...

Which Taisol heatsink to use with the MSI K7T Pro2-A?

The CGK742 will not fit on the K7T Pro2A, according to Taisol. They said the CGK733 was the best fit.

To wait for DDR, or not to wait?

It seems that DDR based mainboards are around the corner. The problem, I think, is that the first DDR mainboards will be a) expensive, and b) not as stable as current PC100/133 mainboards. So, say I want to buy a new system at the end of this month, or next month. Would it be smart to go for a...

    Taisol CGK742 and MSI K7T Pro2A

Does anyone know if a Taisol CGK742 cooler will fit on a MSI K7T Pro2A mainboard? I'm looking into buying both, so it would be nice if they would fit. TIA, Erik
