Maybe try moving sound card to a different slot.

What power supply are you using? Is it recommended by AMD? My dad put a system together that worked fine for a couple of days, then started locking up. He was using a 300watt and locking up. We put a Sparkle 400 watt in and it hasnt locked up since.

Also, I think you have to have a shielded 80 pin cable to enable dma mode. Not positive though.

Everthing looks awesome there, except the sound card. I would go with a SB Live! 5.1. Also, didn't know you could get a 1.4 yet.

Yeah, I noticed that on the ASUS website (http://www.asus.com/products/Motherboard/socketa.html) it said that it would go up to a 1.2Ghz but they don't always update the info right away. I was hoping to see if anyone was already running a 1.3ghz in theirs.

Does anybody know if an a7v will take a 1.3ghz? I know there is a 200 mhz and a 266mhz version of this processor. I was hoping mine would take it. Thanks

I read an article in maxpc, i think september where somebody had that problem. MaxPC told them that win2000 does that with the irq's and not to worry about it. But, I forgot it is giving you problems.

Yeah, 1 time when i was upgrading my computer I had a loose screw that was underneath motherboard that was shorting it out. Also make sure you have the atx power cable plugged into you mboard.

What are your system specs.
