Go to hpshopping.com...you can configure a Compaq r3000 with an Athlon 64 processor, a high resolution 15.4 widescreen, and built in wireless 'g'. May be what you need for CAD. You can also buy through their academic or employee purchase programs...usually saves about 6%.

Compaq R3000 series (in stores) or R3000Z configure-to-order may be what you're looking for.

Download and run MobileMeter. Right click in the chart/graph to select 'options'...under 'battery information' if it says 'designed capacity' is 88800mWh then it's the 12 cell battery...or at least it is in the R3000z models.
