^^what they said^^
Yeah its not solid wood, but I have 6 five shelves and 2 four shelves and they are perfectly fine. Have some serious weight on a couple of the shelves and they are fine, don't have much if any bending. The paperbacks and shelves that aren't jampacked with hardcovers are not...
Thing is because it was posted on the Internet, the manager did at at least a little bit of wiggle room. And he used every inch of it.
It was the same manager that refused to do anything other than provide me with a new power supply when the defective one blew up my system. Hence, done shopping...
CT Department of Consumer Protection told me to call or write CompUSA Corporate and tell them and that they generally ask consumers to try to go directly to the Corporate offices these days.
Meh. Dunno, unless I get inspired I think I'm done and will just continue not shopping at CompUSA
This is the first time I had set foot in one in ~1 year. Last time I bought something there it was a defective power supply that shorted and fried my whole system. Ahh well. Back to shopping online. :)
Manager at the Manchester store outright refused to honor this. He tried to state that since it was a price off the website that it was not valid. I discussed it with him for about five minutes, and he looked at me and said, "I will not honor it."
yatta. CUSA rebates are teh suck in my...
HarryK - Check out the Leviton Quickport stuff. They carry it at Home Depot. Good stuff, not really much of a price premium, although a touch. But you can get the 10% coupons for both Lowes and HD pretty easily. I bought a condo recently and wired up the whole place with 5,000' of this same...
MonkeyWithAnUZI - Thanks for the well written post. I was seriously considering the Yamaha's, but OneCall had such a good deal on the Onkyo SR800 I couldn't pass it up.
Valsalva - yatta
Ahh well, done with this thread. If anyone has serious questions about Fluance speakers, feel free to PM me...
Marauder:
If you live in CT you can come to my house and demo them if you'd like. :)
I can't personally speak for the five piece set. I stepped mine up a couple of notches over the items in the set because 1) I already had surrounds and 2) I wanted a better center channel than is included in...
Showdown:
I've run about 3000' of this stuff so far, 2500' for network, 500' for audio, and not had a problem with it yet. My longest run is probably about 150'? I have not put a Fluke on the line to check for cross-talk, etc, yet (someone "borrowed" from work and hasn't returned it ... at...
Of course everything is subjective with audio.
I spent about 2 months researching receivers and speakers. IMO these speakers sound EXCELLENT, on par with the speakers that cost significantly more. For the record, I own these:

I have the AV-5 mains and the large center.
They are excellent speakers. Paired with an Onkyo TX-SR800 and I am happy as heck with 'em. The center compares to the $500 Boston Aucostics I was considering buying at Tweeter, and the main's are as good as ones in the 600-700 price range easily as...
