Thats because your running at a lower pixel clock (the resolution is only 1280x1024). The reason the problem goes away on VGA is because VGA is running at a higher pixel clock then DVI. Most likely if you ran at 1680x1050 with VGA the problem would go away.

I think games will still run fine, the only disadvantage to that is it might lower your FPS slightly. I am still trying to find out how to change that setting on an ATI card.
Wow, still on the third one? Unbelievable........ It definitely seems like all July A02's have a MAJOR issue regarding the DVI. Almost like an incorrect or extremely cheap component is being installed in the monitor. Of course most people will never notice, since the average joe only uses VGA...
If you wait to long to return it (past 21 days) they might try and send you a refurb. The monitors have a 3 year warranty but past 21 days you might have to argue with them if you don't want a refurb.
