No specs on the drive that i can see?

I have a dvd/cd rom drive model HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4120B and nobody can tell me what it can do.No reply back from E-machine,etc.I don't want to buy a dvd writable disk and find out it can't do it.Help.

Could it bea conflict,did you installanything recently just before it happened?You have a lot of programs thatdo the same thing,one might not be compatible with the other.
