That's exactly the setting I've been trying to change but I I've accidently made the xbmc folder read-only and need to know which file is holding the video display output settings?

Movies stuttering and out of sync on dual PC / TV setup

Thank you very much, will check it out. I know this is a bit off-topic, but since you seem to know about xbmc:- I have xbmc gotham 13.2. For some reason xbmc is in window mode and won't switch to fullscreen. I have tried to change this, but it reverts back to window mode. Does anyone know...

Movies stuttering and out of sync on dual PC / TV setup

I think I have found the problem! The monitor cannot be adjusted and in always at 60Hz, but in the intel display options in windows, I managed to change the TV's refresh rate to 24Hz! This has forced the TV to run @ 1080p/24 and has stopped all stuttering :)

Movies stuttering and out of sync on dual PC / TV setup

Thanks very much guys. It's not the codecs as I've updated these recently. The monitor is running at 60Hz, but the TV is on 59Hz...what should I choose for the TV?

Movies stuttering and out of sync on dual PC / TV setup

hi guys, I have a media pc which is connected via hdmi to the tv. It's a fairly fast pc and more than adequate to handle hi-res videos. When I play a movie on a duplicate setup in 1080p, using various players, such as VLC, Media player classic or XBMC, it plays perfectly on the monitor, but...

Totally confused on choosing system(s) to make everything more integrated

Thanks for clarifying that lehtv, so what cpu is more closer to the HP Microserver? I know you must be thinking why I'm asking, I'm just working out if it's better to build my own NAS that matches or exceeds the specs of the HP microserver, but still works out cheaper or same price or more...

Is your link the same spec as this one? :- http://www.box.co.uk/HP_ProLiant_MicroServer_704941-421_N54L__1341681.html A quick question. What is the HP Microserver like in terms of performance/power consumption, compared to this spec:- CPU: Intel Core i3-3220T 2.8GHz Dual-Core Processor...

Totally confused on choosing system(s) to make everything more integrated

Since this is my first NAS, 2 x 2tb at the most. In fact I was even thinking of 2 x 1tb. I don't mind a consumer grade NAS, but if I could get more power for my money by building it, then I'd rather have that. Also I need it to handle at least two 1080p movies playing simultaneously as well...

Totally confused on choosing system(s) to make everything more integrated

okay, your right mate...I guess I will have to compromise. Thank you for the parts list. I have to be honest, but I don't like the idea of a HTPC acting also as a NAS as this would be problematic...kids would accidently turn it off or others will go and mess about with it. I want a NAS that...

Totally confused on choosing system(s) to make everything more integrated

Morning, @ crashtech - After reading your question (Post #28) late last night, I began to think...I originally had a £550-£600 budget. As the current pc build is already adding to almost £300, I only have £200 left from my £600 budget. I'm thinking, is it possible to reduce the PC costs...

Totally confused on choosing system(s) to make everything more integrated

It's a rip-off here in uk. If not an SSD, then I don't need a hard drive as I've got a 250gb hdd and I'll use that instead, saving me £35. The only reason I was going for an SSD was quick boot-up times, but I guess it's not that bad with normal 7200rpm drives - so total cost will be approx...
