    Dual monitor support

Hi I have an Atrend ATC-6220 mobo, with a S3 Trio 3D/2X 4MB AGP card. I'd like to install a PCI gfx card as well, to get dual-monitor support going (we are testing monitors at work, so getting dual-monitor support would be good). Has anyone tried doing this, with [old] non-nVidia cards before...

    Minimum system operating temperature?

Using the AOpen AX45-533 board, with a P4 1.8/512, going into the 'System Health' right after a cold cold boot (hasn't been on for a few hours), the sensors would crash cos the cpu's too cold, and the entire system would hang. Now, I'm always impressed when you can crash a computer from the...

    DVD Recorders!!! Questions..im a nub :D

Trust me ;) I work for an IT distributor for Panasonic. Go read the DVD hacker sites (none come to mind atm) ;) The Panasonic ones are the ones needed to read the sub-code text :D

    Apacer vs kingston

I agree; go for Apacer No point in paying for Kingston, when Apacer is more than capable of doing exactly the same job. Apacer is the brand of RAM that AOpen use to test their boards with.

Good SDram socket A mATX board?

MSI MS-6378 (or is it 6368?) *nods* good boards; I sell them every time to my OEM customers who need/want an all-in-one board, AthlonXP capable, with PC133 SDRAM.

    DVD Recorders!!! Questions..im a nub :D

Personally, I'd recommend Panasonic DVD-RAM/R drives - they're the only ones that'll *cough*copy*cough* i mean, back up, Playstation, Playstation2, and XBox cds, cos it'll read the sub-code text ;) .....Not that I'm into that kinda thing, of course :) Just my knowledge on the subject

Is there any way to get a P4 2.0A to go 533MHz FSB on a ECS P4S5A/DX?

    um, to my knowledge, the 2.0GHz isn't 533-compatible :P

Gonna Cry: PC Problem still not fixed after 2 1/2 WEEKS!! Techies are stumped.

I've had this kinda problem a while ago, when diagnosing a computer for one of my customers. MSI KT3Ultra mobo, with an XP1800 in it. No boot. I work for an IT supplier, so parts weren't a problem. Eventually worked out to something as below: Fried chip. It then fried the board (unbeknown to...

Availibility of 1066 Rambus (184 pin)

Yeah, I've built a 2.4GHz with the Gigabyte GA-8IHXP board. The first 2x 256MB PC1066 RAM I got was shite, so it went back to my suppliers, who informed me of a 4-week wait! Gah! The RAM I got was part of the faulty batch, I think - the offending model# has "036.A01" on the chips. Just...

    Pentium 4 cpu Temps

I"ve got a 2.4B, runs at 47°C at idle, and 52° under load (eg, winxp installation). ....Then again, the higher temps are probably due to the fact I'm running 1x Maxtor 40/7200, 2x Maxtor 60/7200 in RAID1, RDRAM and a GF3 Ti500! :P

    PC1066 RDRAM for Gigabyte GA-8IHXP

There seems to be problems with a new batch of this 256MB RAM from Kingston - in particular, those with the model # of "036.A01" printed on the chips. Sometimes over/underclocking will fix the problem, but sometimes not (as in my case). My RAM is currently on it's way back to my suppliers - I'm...

    PC1066 RDRAM for Gigabyte GA-8IHXP

I have a very similar setup, ssmithBH - P4 2.4B, GA-8IHXP, Lian-Li PC61, Hercules GF3 Ti500, etc etc, and 2x Kingston 256MB PC1066 RDRAM, and, lo and behold, i was getting WinXP Pro installation errors all over the place!! :disgust: I work for an IT distributor, so I'm trying to sort this out...

Raid....Hard drives need to be exactly identical?

RAID is still popular - perhaps not so much as far as the performance aspects go, but definately for the redundancy. TheCorm, by that, I mean RAID1 uses 2 drives, with mirrored data. So if drive(x) fails, drive(y) will be an exact copy, will boot/use data from that drive instead, and inform you...
