Dual monitor support

Hi

I have an Atrend ATC-6220 mobo, with a S3 Trio 3D/2X 4MB AGP card. I'd like to install a PCI gfx card as well, to get dual-monitor support going (we are testing monitors at work, so getting dual-monitor support would be good).

Has anyone tried doing this, with [old] non-nVidia cards before?

When I plug in a PCI card, Win2k boots, and Device Manager reports that it "cannot initialise device". Any ideas/suggestions? Would I possibly have better luck installing a cheapy 8MB TNT Vanta, just to use the nVidia "nView" utilities?

(Basically, I know this can be done, but I'd rather use what we have in the office as "non-stock", rather than buying new equipment... Damn work is cheap :p

Tell em to stop being cheap and go buy a GeForce4 MX 420/440/460 card that supports dual monitors. You can find them really cheap these days.

I'm sitting infront of a Riva128ZX+Permedia2 setup, get the TNT acting as a primary and the Trio acting as the slave. (my Riva128ZX would NOT act as a slave). There should be an option in BIOS as to which to initialize first: AGP or PCI, select "PCI".
