My new ISP has provided me with a modem/voice router (a voyager 220v) and i want to connect this in turn to a linksys router (befsr41) so i can share my internet connection between 2 computers. I've plugged them together and turned dhcp off on the linksys but I get no WAN light on the linksys...
Can anyone recco a good freeware tool to split movies into segments. Typically i want to split a 700M 100 minute movie into 2 halfs so i can burn each to a dvd.
I'd really like one that accepted mpg, avi, and as many other formats as possible without having to re-encode.
HTTPwatch is good for IE on the PC. It's not quite the same as iGet but it let's you see the real url of a file so you can make the download.

The reason i woudl like both is purely because I have to use a PC for work and want to use the Mac for home use. I've got VPC now and it's ok, in fact i will almost certainly keep it as it allows me to boot multiple windows OSs at the same time - somehting i coudl never do on a windows box...
I've heard rumours that the new intel based Mac will be able to handle Vista natively but will not be able to handle an installation of XP.
Anyone know if there's any truth and if so, why not XP?
I use spyware blaster along with AdAware and have never had any problems. But I think it's important to use more than one as none of them are perfect.
