The tv have to be 1080p for that to happen. That hp plasma or your cheapo plasma is NOT 1080p. you will only be playing/watching at 720p. I dont think there's any 1080p 50inches plasma for under $1200 yet.

i would guess that your mobo is holding you back. Unless you really needed SLI, there's no good reason for nvidia mb. If any Q6600 doesnt make it to 3.0, something else is to blame. for ref, my q6600 g0 is at 3.5@1.48 on a p35 mb.
