Aigomorla - I think I did put a little too much AS5 the first time but it did not spill out to the sides. I still applied it to both the cpu and hsf but put on less this time around. I'm certainly not complaining but was just curious why it did what it did. Thanks all for your help...

So I went back and took everything apart. I did install the hsf backwards so air was actually blowing into the case rather than out the back. I cleaned off the artic silver and re-applied it to both the cpu and heatsink. I also discovered that the hsf was not completely attached to the mobo...

That's what I was thinking too which is why I did not attempt to push the CPU to 3ghz. I was hoping I didn't have to take everything out and re-install the HSF but that might be my only option. So I guess it's not normal then especially for idle temps.

Hi All- I was hoping I could get some help from the experts around here. This is my first build in over 4 years so I'm out of the loop with this stuff but can you guys tell me if it's normal for my cpu temp to be hovering around 45 C with the Artic Freezer Pro 7? I wanted to OC this sucker...
