I run FAH so the quad core was the easy winner over the dual core.
NCIX is a crapshoot at the moment ... people are randomly reporting G0's and B3's regardless of when they ordered. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks, you could always go for Tankguys.
Decided to take the risk and ordered July 24th, recevied confirmation email yesterday stating that I was shipped a SLACR - G0 chip. Looks like I got lucky with all the reports of recent B3 stepping CPUs.
Found the drive listed in their weekly ad and saw about 5 on the shelves when I went in along with other Hitachi products...

I'm using a Radio Shack Indoor/Outdoor thermometer - indoor for ambient temp and outdoor for either case temp or a somewhat inaccurate heatsink temp.

Thanks for the input guys. I decided to hold off on the upgrade and bumped up the PPGA Celeron 366 back up to 550. Hasn't crashed in the 4hrs in game so it appears to be somewhat stable. Performance is much better but still not nearly as good as the P3@800 & Geforce2 MX.
