OK, I got the CNTRL-F1 thing figured out and found the memory timings in the MIT menu. My memory says it will support 4-4-4-12, but the default config is coming up at 5-5-5-18. Do I simply go into manual mode and set the timings at 4-4-4-12, or do I need to somehow change the memory voltage...

yes the system boots just fine with the Zalman fan turning or not. The Zallman on the PWR_FAN is spinning the fan and everything seems to work. I will try the seconday 80 mm fan on one of the 4 pin connectors and see if it works tonight. Thanks for your help.

thanks. The Zalman didn't work when plugged into the 4 pin in the manner you described. The LED came on, but the fan wouldn't turn. I will try it with the 80 mm fan. I do have the fan mate installed, so I can control the Zalman fan. Right now I have it on silent mode and its pretty quiet.

I just built a DIY system using a Coolermaster Centurion 5 case and a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R motherboard. Also used a Scythe 120mm fan and a Zalman 9700 cooler. THe case comes with an 80mm fanon the front to cool the HDDs. It seems all my fans including the Zalman 9700 have 3 pin connectors...

Why? What's the problem with the RAID solution. My thinking was its totally transparent so its always backed up. What's the downside?

why 2x120 fans? to keep it quiet or for better cooling? Is it configured 1 front and 1 back? Any recommendations on a decent, inexpensive case? How about the fans? Was thinking of Sythe S-Plex SFF21F.

THanks for the feedback. How much heat does that 8800 GTS put out? Is there much of a difference in heat output if I go with a lower end card such as 8600GTS or 7900GS?
