Yeah, I do perform backups but this isn't my system. It is a friends and unfortunately he didn't back it up. Thanks for the links.

I have a laptop that a friend gave me to try and repair but the hard drive is dead and won't spin. I tried in another laptop and external case and it is just not getting power. I am looking to recover about 1GB-5GB in important business and financial files off the hard drive and cost it not...
