Unicomp Customizer vs IBM Model M

I just tested my USB Unicomp at http://www.gigahype.com/nkey-rollover-test-page/ ... I can hold down W (or S), A, D, CTRL, SHIFT, and Space at the same time, no problem. ALT is missing from that test. I cannot hold down W, A, S AND D at the same time, but that is very hard to do with one hand...

Unicomp Customizer vs IBM Model M

I used to game a lot (Doom, Quake, Half-Life, CS) on my IBM & Lexmark Model M's, and never had a problem. Unicomp says they follow the same spec as IBM and Microsoft. It is possible that USB models have less key rollover, but you could always get a PS/2 model. Bob

Unicomp Customizer vs IBM Model M

Hi, Thanks for the tip about SharpKeys. I have a few Lexmark and IBM Model M's, but the Lexmark (circa 1994) at work died recently when I spilled bottled water on it (I've tried flushing with distilled water but no luck)... So, a couple weeks ago, I got a Unicomp Ultra Classic UB40P4A for...

ECC support on low-end consumer 1155 CPUs? ITX boards?

Yeah, I've been looking for the Kabinis (GX-series) or Opteron X-series (Koyoto) on mini-ITX but nothing yet. I was looking because of the lower TDP, but if this is the only path to ECC, it makes finding these critical. There's a couple Kabini ITX boards announced, but not GX-series afaik...

ECC support on low-end consumer 1155 CPUs? ITX boards?

re MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 http://us.msi.com/product/mb/FM2-A75IA-E53.html#/?div=TestReport Click on Memory report. A Kingston DDR3 1066 4GB ECC module (available from NewEgg as a single DIMM or set of 2) is listed as compatible. EDIT: Sorry, see above and/or below; VirtualLarry pointed out that...

ECC support on low-end consumer 1155 CPUs? ITX boards?

The MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 FM2 board supports Kingston ECC RAM. It has 4 SATA + 1 eSATA, and a crappy Realtek NIC (and one PCIe-16 slot). I'm building a FreeNAS box, either using this or a future Kabini board, if I can find a Kabini supporting ECC. I'll add an Intel NIC. Bob

Help me find a replacement power supply (please)

My HTPC started randomly (and frequently) turning off a few days ago... the case and PS are 4.5 years old. I was able to fit a standard ATX power supply (PCPower & Cooling Silencer MK III 400W) in my Overture II case... However: 1. this power supply is slightly longer, so the cables were a...
