Help: athlon 64 3200+ .90nm OC failing miserably

Well, 2.5 ghz was failing at any memory setting. Went back to 240FSB, memory at 2.5-2-2-5 1:1, single channel though. Things running okay, Prime95 been running for almost 2 hours. I'm getting 4750 score on PCMark04, which is about right for this setup, I think. My only concern - at...

Help: athlon 64 3200+ .90nm OC failing miserably

Dang it - tried only 1 stick of ram - 2.5-3-3-11, 2T 1:1 with 240FSB - seems stable! (memtest, superPI, and a little Prime95).... I guess I'll try slots 1+3, even though that'll make it run slower than 1+2 (Dual Channel).

Help: athlon 64 3200+ .90nm OC failing miserably

According to the BIOS, I had 3.24, 4.96, and 11.67volts. According to MBM5 (I dont know if it's properly configured), it's 3.06, 4.95, and 12.28 volts (both under load and idle).

Help: athlon 64 3200+ .90nm OC failing miserably

Thanks for the replies. I haven't tried 1T - I kept it at 2T. It passed 200Mhz 2-2-2-5 2T, and I'm currently stable at 2.5-2-2-5 2T @ 210Mhz. Nothing over 210Mhz works, no matter what the timing. I haven't tried bios higher than 1.3 - should I? From what I've read, it seems that they...

Help: athlon 64 3200+ .90nm OC failing miserably

Edit: I got it to work at 210FSB 1:1, but that's it. Anything higher is unstable at 1:1.

Help: athlon 64 3200+ .90nm OC failing miserably

I can get the CPU to run stable at up to 240FSB with appropriate voltage and 3x HT settings, but only if memory is set to 5:6 (166). At max memclock of 200, even with 2T 3-3-3-10, the memory is failing stability tests, at ANY FSB speed above 200 FSB. I thought I had bad memory, so I RMA'ed it...

    Need some advice OC'ing 3200+ .90nm

So it looks like I didn't get a very good CPU, and I prolly won't be able to RMA it because it doesn't overclock as well as the others. I tried to lower voltages as you guys have mentioned and it's not Prime95 stable. Currently, I'm at: HTT [3x] FSB [240] CPU VID [1.525] CPU Voltage...

    Need some advice OC'ing 3200+ .90nm

Ok, just changed these settings: HT [x3] CPU VID[1.525] CPU Voltage[over VID 8%] everything else same as above, just started running Prime95. BTW, I checked my "vcore" under HW Health section of the bios - it fluctuates between 1.53 and 1.55 volts. What gives? I thought vcore =...

    Need some advice OC'ing 3200+ .90nm

Thanks, I'll try that. Btw, are my voltages okay (still not crystal clear on what the 2 settings need to be set to)

    Need some advice OC'ing 3200+ .90nm

So I upped voltages and such, setting the FSB to 220 - prime95 ran for 7 hours no errors. I then increased the voltage some more, setting FSB to 240. At this speed, Prime95 is failing within 2 hours. Here are my settings: High Performance Mode [Manual] Aggressive Timing [Disabled]...

    Need some advice OC'ing 3200+ .90nm

Sorry for the noob question, but I couldn't find this on the forum: in BIOS, I have VID [1.500v] CPU Voltage [By CPU VID] To overclock the cpu, (after raising the FSB) should I raise "VID" and keep "CPU Voltage" the same, or change "CPU Voltage" to something like +3.3%, keeping "VID" the...

SuperPI failing on an non-OC'ed OEM AMD 64 3200+

Well, 22 hrs of Prime95, no errors. I guess it's a lesson learned - instability can be due to bad (?) dimm slots 3 and 4.

SuperPI failing on an non-OC'ed OEM AMD 64 3200+

Thanks guys, I'll try both of those (for under-clocking, should I only lower the FSB?) In the mean time: last night I put the 2 mem sticks back in slot 1-2, and let SuperPI 32M and Torture Test run. It's now been 10 hours since than, Pi is finished, and Prime95 is still running no errors. Now...

SuperPI failing on an non-OC'ed OEM AMD 64 3200+

SuperPI (32M run) just gave an SQR error... I guess I'll run memtest for like 10 hrs to be certain that it's not the memory, but after that, I'll prolly have to exchange the CPU

SuperPI failing on an non-OC'ed OEM AMD 64 3200+

Okay, I ran 2 passes of memtest - no errors. Switched from slots 3-4 to slots 1-2 (still dual channel), re-ran memtest - 4 passes (about 1.5 hrs), - no errors... Very strange. The one thing I noticed when moving ram sticks around was - there was a tiny carpet hair stuck to the end of one of...
