Um, I did? I saw it as a cop out on their part. I still don't see any reason why they couldn't provide pins on their cards just like the pins on motherboards with onboard sound. If you can do it on a mainboard, why not a pci card? The cases just give you the cables, you can hook them up...
It really stinks that none of the video cards out there seem to support front-panel audio :( I received this reply from Creative Labs when I added it as a suggestion on their website:
Thank you for your suggestion for the soundcard. Do understand that most
of the casings that provides front...
For anybody who has a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, you'll notice there is a 10-pin Mic/Headphone connector on the board. It was apparently added specifically for Dell to connect to the front-panel audio of Dell machines. They do not offer a pin-layout, and provide no support for this...
Whoa, good catch on that fan. I never saw that (I was viewing those images last night on a tablet PC). This isn't an nforce3 250, it's an ultra. I was really hoping to find one with passive cooling, but I guess it's not to be. Also, good find on that other posting- it looks like you have to...
Well, yeah- I want the nforce3 ultra because of the AGP. as for the usb, i'm pretty sure you can have 4 front/4 back, but i'll verify. I'm mostly concerned about performance with 4 DIMMs...
Any other info from current owners would also be appreciated. I'm ready to buy- just need to find the perfect mobo for me ;) (I'm not going to overclock- just want ultimate stability).
Can anyone verify if the GA-K8NS Ultra-939 motherboard will run in dual-channel mode at full speed with DDR400 with all four DIMM slots utilized? I can't seem to find this info in any reviews (this mobo hasn't been reviewed, from what I can find, on anandtech or thw).
I am searching for an...
Thanks- that's good to know at least. I was a little bit concerned though about hte 9600XT because I know that it has built-in overclocking based on heat, so I was a little scared that manufacturers might build in powerful, noisy HSF units in order to get a few extra fps... Hopefully that's...
A friend needs a new video card and is looking at the Sapphire 9600XT. He currently owns a nearly-silent operating Dell PC, and doesn't want to change that with a noisy video card.
Anybody own the 9600Xt and can attest to its volume? Is it very quiet?
Thanks!
Well, I'll put it this way: I just got a new Seagate 7200.7 120GB drive (w/ 8MB cache), and with the case cover off, I couldn't even hear it over my relatively quiet system during a full disk defragment. You will have no complaints if you buy this drive- guaranteed.
I'm just curious to know if anyone out there is running their Epox 8KHA+ mainboard with > 512MB RAM. I had 512 for the longest time, then just bought an extra 256MB of 2100 DDR RAM, and it was causing crashes on my machine. Games (SW:G and Jedi Knight II) would crash, specifically.
I have...
