I don't have a solution to your problem, but I am having similar problems. My system seems to be reading data wrong and writing corupt files. The problem seems to go away when I disable the L1 cache in the BIOS. The computer runs very slowly because of this. Could you try this? Maybe we...- bbulen

CPU problem / disabling L1 cache fixes problem ??
I have bought an ASUS A7V and 1.1 GHz Thunderbird. I get corrupt file messages installing Windows 98. I have tried different hard drives, cables, memory, CD, CD-ROM and BIOS's(1004D, 1006). When I disable the L1 cache in the BIOS, I don't get these errors. Is the CPU bad or is it something...- bbulen
