    How to Fit a CPU Cooler

    I have seen good advice that suggests you should initially assemble motherboard; CPU and CPU cooler on a table prior to installing in the case and testing that everything is ok that way. My question is: how do you power that arrangemnt on? If the PS is fitted, the mobo does not power on in this...

    2100+ Tbred B (? -> yes!) at newegg for 92->101 dollars (1/14/03)

    Slightly off topic I know but interested to know what cooler you guys are using for this oc. I may overclock slightly but not much with a 2100+ and want a fan/heatsink that doesnt sound like a jet engine. Any recommendations? I like the new Vantec VA4-C7040 but seems as if it does not recognized...

    2100+ Tbred B (? -> yes!) at newegg for 92->101 dollars (1/14/03)

    Thanks for pointing this out. Guess you live an learn.. You almost have to go to the very end of checkout. At the time I was not sure it was a Palomino or Tbred. 2100+ Tbred B (? -> yes!) at newegg for 92->101 dollars (1/14/03)

    Well, my apologies. I have not bought before and they certainly do not offer that on the 2100+ that I wanted. So if it is only the 1700+, I could not deduce that from the thread. So it is a little misleading. Thanks for the clarification Brian

    Can I Run 5 IDE Devices on a Raid board?

    I have a standalone Promise card now, but I find it to be a problem occasionally. First, it takes a PCI slot and while most mobos have 5 or 6 PCI slots, some of them have problems at the high end and LAN and sound cards should take up slots 2 and 3. So they are not all usable. Secondly, and more...

    Can I Run 5 IDE Devices on a Raid board?

    Most mobo's support 4 IDE devices. However Raid boards support 8 IDE devices (e.g. ABIT KT7A-RAID). I need some advice as to whether I can support 5 IDE devices (3 IDE HD and 2 IDE CDRW/CDROM) on these without running in any kind of Raid configuration. I don't need or want Raid, only the support...
