I'm in the market for a UPS to go with this PC that I put together for my sister about two months ago:

Hello Everyone,
Are there any articles out there that set the AMD Threadripper 1950X and Threadripper 2950X to the same frequency across all cores and show the performance delta between the two? I know how they compare out of the box, but I'm trying to get an idea of how much of the advantage...
@thigobr it seems going Threadripper/X399 might have been the right choice for now. Hopefully things improve with motherboard/AGESA updates, but if the hope is to clock anywhere near/above 3200 with 64GB of RAM, this might be the platform for now
That's EXACTLY what AVADirect is selling in the product link shared by Fanatical Meat above. Thank you for the review, was curious to see if there was any performance impact as a result of this unique IC configuration.
I think this particular kit might be a bad idea on an AMD platform machine. G.SKILL makes it seem as though it only works on a handful of Z390 motherboards. Would be great to see them update the QVL list or sell something similar that works on the AMD platform, for sure!
Actually, that kit is old. When I was looking at an AMD motherboard with only 2 memory slots I was researching this kit and according to G.SKILL it only works on a handful of ASUS motherboards.

Hello Everyone!
My sister runs a food blog and asked me to build her a machine specifically for photo editing + video editing to be used towards projects for her site.
I present to you...

So after reading some reviews of the new Ryzens, I am definitely excited at the prospect of picking up whatever new Threadripper they announce based on the new Zen core (in the future). Until then, I think we will sit tight with the 1950X and X399 Taichi we picked up a few weeks ago at steep...

Absolutely it's relevant. We are hoping that AMD keeps this socket around for at least one more generation if not two so that we can capitalize on the upgrade potential you just mentioned. It would be AWESOME if it ends up being that easy when this 1950X really does get long in the tooth.
Thank you all for your feedback and input. I went with a Threadripper 1950X and ASRock X399 Taichi motherboard. Currently have the G.SKILL dual rank 4 x 16GB kit at 3133 doing 14-14-14 stable in a quad channel configuration. Hopefully I can continue tuning and get to that 3200 goal for this quad...
