Hello Everyone,

Are there any articles out there that set the AMD Threadripper 1950X and Threadripper 2950X to the same frequency across all cores and show the performance delta between the two? I know how they compare out of the box, but I'm trying to get an idea of how much of the advantage the 2950X enjoys can be attributed to its higher core frequency.

Thank you!

The advantage should be 100% attributable to its higher core frequency. The cores between Zen and Zen+ are exactly the same. Ryzen 2k saw some latency fixes but Threadripper was never affected. The bigger change aside the switch from 14nm to 12nm was the improved (more dynamic) boosting algorithm, but that's essentially about making better use of higher core frequency.

Using Cinebench R15, the 1950X gets 3413 at 4.00 and the 2950X gets 3650 at 4.2 so clock for clock the difference is between 1%-2%

Looking at the leaked by Aussie youtuber TechYesCity video of The 3950X managed a 4346cb in Cinebench R15 at 4.2(or 4090 at 4 Ghz) this means that a 16 core TR3 will have at least 20% IPC in increase on MT Apps over Zen 1
