im having the same problems...p4 3.06, asus p4g8x-d, radeon 9700 pro evidently there were some issues with granite bays and 9700 pro's, supposedly you can fix it by - going from 256 > 128 apeture - disable write combining - turn fast writes off as far as OCing goes i havent had much luck past...

o the ram is pc133 sdram and its a clean install of win2k havnet touched anything besides installing mbm5, a couple other progs, havnet touched anything in BIOS from default cept for the fsb (which raised 1:1 with the fsb 100 mhz fsb = 100 mhz dram , 110 = 110, etc)
