2500k stock vcore is 1.36 in BIOS. WHAT?!?!

My stock 2500K voltage was 1.2V at load and 0.9V at idle with multiplier dropping to x16. My overclocked voltage is 1.35V @ 4.6GHz at load and I use the offset function plus speedstep for the idle periods where it drops to 0.9V again at x16.

Ivy Bridge 3570K Testing, Opinions, Results, New Bios, 4.5Ghz At 1.236v

Again, this is a tri-SLI setup. The vast majority of gamers and low level enthusiasts are: a) Not using tri-SLI but are mostly on one single or 2-way b) Most gamers who have bought GTX680s/HD7970s (i.e. PCI 3.0 cards) only buy one card largely due to the cost at present c) I would guess that...

Ivy Bridge 3570K Testing, Opinions, Results, New Bios, 4.5Ghz At 1.236v

Yea sure, with quad SLI on a PCI-E 3.0 card at very high resolutions it will have an impact as bandwidth really matters. For the average enthusiast with 2-way SLI and "normal" resolutions 1080p, the difference will be negligible so this is not a compelling reason to move to an ivybridge by itself.

Ivy Bridge 3570K Testing, Opinions, Results, New Bios, 4.5Ghz At 1.236v

Wish I could give you my maximus V Gene to play around with using a 3570K. I hope your tests can dispel the rumours of ivybridge chips heating up too much when OCed as horse sh*t.

    Z77 chipset and PCI-E 3.0

Thanks guys. Makes a lot of sense. So currently only the G1 Sniper 3, Asus P8Z77 WS and ASrock Z77 Extreme9 support dual PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots and quad SLI/X-fire. I think although the difference with most current video cards is minimal between x8 and x16, choosing a z77 board with a Plx...

    Z77 chipset and PCI-E 3.0

Hi, I am due to replace my current Q6700/Asus maximus formula system with a Z77 chipset/Ivybridge i5. I am totally confused about some of the motherboard offerings from the main manufacturers in terms of PCI-E 3.0 and the number of x16 slots they offer. An example is the Gigabyte G1 Sniper...

    i7 2670qm (quad mobile) vs Q6600 desktop?

Not a direct comparison but my i7 - 2860QM is about 50% faster as stock than my overclocked Q6700 @3.6 GHz. Mainly used wprime and throttlestop benchmarks.

    Missing RAID-0 partition

Hi, apologies in advance for the extremely novice nature of this but I am new to this. I have a ROCK Xtreme SL8 laptop with a Clevo D900C motherboard. There are no Win7 drivers for this and when my vista 64-bit install finally died, I decided to do a fresh install with win7 ultimate today...

OCZ Vertex 2 vs Vertex 3

I think I know what you mean but just to be clear, do you mean don't bother with a vertex 3 or don't bother with OCZ vertex 2/3 SSDs at all?

OCZ Vertex 2 vs Vertex 3

Hi, new poster here so please go easy on me. I just bought a 160 GB Vertex 2 drive and I didn't know the Vertex 3 had also come out. My system is about 3 years old with a Q6700 (OCed to 3.4GHz), ASUS maximus formula MB, 8 GB RAM, XFX GTX 260. As far as I know, my motherboard only supports up to...
