Anyone good at searching the net?

I am trying to find a technical article (I think it was on Microsoft's Technet or Knowledge Base) that deals with a specific problem. I have used this article before, but now I can't find it. It deals with a problem with NT 4.0 Terminal Server when it is installed on a system with too much RAM...

My RAM is the opposite of good

Hey. I just purchased a pc133 256mb sdram dimm module and installed it, but my computer only recognizes it as a 128mb! I've switched slots with my other module, a pc100 64mb sdram dimm, but my memory is still recognized as only 192mb total. I have a P3 450. Any suggestions, or is it just a bad...

    power supplies blowing up

Thanks everyone. From what I can see, it probably is just a big coincidence that four of them blew up. We took all of them apart and then relocated them, and they were old anyway.

    power supplies blowing up

Thanks guys. The power supplies are all set at 115, and the voltage from the wall is correct too. It is the power supplies, since other ones work to power on the blown computers. It is just weird that four of them blew up while others are working fine on the same electrical circuit. ak5fxke9

    power supplies blowing up

Hi. I have multiple computers that have worked for many years in a university lab. Now they have been taken out, and were used to set up a test network. When they are plugged in, though, they blow up. Once power is connected to the power supply, a big electrical zap occurs and they emit smoke...

Hello everyone. Does anyone know if there is any way to use "user manager for domains" from NT 4.0 on a 2000 member server box, or any program that is equivilant (maybe one that runs from the mmc). Being able to use 2000 member servers to manage the 4.0 domain would be helpful. Thanks...

for the love of God, please help me!!

I am currently working with a Dell Poweredge server with Windows NT 4.0. It was working fine until a power outage shut it down, and on a reboot it said that the NT kernal was corrupt. So naturally I did a repair installation of NT, and then the computer would restart itself every time when it...

the perfect mix of security and performance

I realize this question will be very overbroad, as I am not as experienced with this stuff as I would like to be. I work for a university that has multiple computer labs running Windows NT 4.0 sp6 with about 25 different software applications available for the students. The problem is, the way...

    mscal.ocx not registering

I was installing Visual Studio 6.0 (on NT Server 4.0 SP6 with Office 2000) and at the end where it says "updating your system" it gives a message that mscal.ocx cannot be registered and then that setup failed. Yet everything I've tried works except the components option in Visual...

    mixing RAM

Trying to provide a ram upgrade, I have some Kingston ram designed for the Dell Optiplex GX1 (32mb dimm), and I tried to install it in a Optiplex GXi, and it won't recognize it. Dell's site says that both parity and nonparity ram can be used, and it is installed with the biggest module first...

    GetRight issue

Does anyone know if you can recover part of a downloaded file from GetRight? It saves the downloaded files with a .getright extention, and until you complete the download you have no access to the file. I have downloaded part of an .avi file, and I would like to be able to view the part I've...
