Calling all space nerds! There is a nebula looking thing near Virgo that is visible with the naked eye that looks like a double nebula with two prominent centers. Any idea what it's called? Here is a bad photo:

Depending on the location, probably a very fuzzy m104. There's quite a few Messier objects around Virgo though, was it alone or in the big ass Messier cluster?

The area is very fuzzy, like a big comet tail.

So here's what I mean:

You've got M104 on the bottom side, and a whole pile of M objects on the topside in a galaxy cluster. Which object you're looking at depends on where in the constellation/cluster it is. Your image looks vaguely bar-like which brought me to M104.

FWIW there's a few 'sky map' apps for phones that just give you a virtual planetarium which i find is phenomenally useful when wanting to identify objects while 'scoping or stargazing. I personally use one just called 'sky map'. You can point it wherever and get most notable points of interest, search for specific objects, etc.

I just installed Sky Map cause of this thread. It's on fdroid. Can't see anything tonight, but I'm looking forward to trying it out.
