I've built and built, tired of building.

Looking for a place like alienware.com that allows for specific customization. The only problem I have with alien is that their office solutions are only customizable with scsi. I want a power horse for my encoding, occasional web/ftp serving, compiling, etc. Not big on graphics, but very big on sound.

What other places are there like alienware?

murdock you'd have to know the entire setof circumstances to understand the situation.. and I do not wish to reveal the circumstances to people I have never met before. So please do not call me lazy.

I merely was looking for some alternatives and didn't know what to search for on google.

Thank you for the links.

Go to www.mwave.com and pick all the parts that you want and have them build it for you for only 79.99. Plus you can pick out your own os. I've built mine own for the last 3 years but the next time it will be through them!

Again Falcon Northwest, always high reviews!

I cannot speak for or agains the other vendors, for I have not dealt with them.

I would go with Dell, they've got great prices, and they let you pick from tons of different options!

(Sarcasm...wink wink...nudge...nudge, someone had to say it!):D

I just built a p4 1.5 gig system with 256 pc800, hercules 64 mb prophet, sblive! platinum 5.1, 16x yamaha, 20 gig, and 60 gig (both 7200) hard drives, 12x dvd, and got 5.1 cambridge surround speakers..all for only about 1300, a comparable Dell couldnt touch that price, however some of the above named vendors can, so try one like falcon northwest.

If you're going to buy it pre-built, I'd suggest dealing with a local store that will let you specify the parts. Mwave also sounds good. As a last resort, get a Dell or Gateway, but please don't get a PC from Alienware or Falcon. They don't have anything special, I mean they use the same parts everyone uses, but you get charged a few thousand dollars extra for the "gaming machine" BS.

wasn't looking for prebuilt necessarily.. was looking for a place that had all of the things I wanted at decent prices.. and I found one of them that was willing to leave unassembled.

Thanks.
