Don't mention Alienware on here. Almost everyone on here (except for me) thinks that Alienware systems are not worth the price, and they'll give you grief by saying that they can build an identical system for like a nickel.

Hope you get quality brand names and pay 2-3x what it's worth, or know you get good brand names but pay 4x what's it worth...

Errr..that's hard. Probably go Dell, just make sure your drive is 7200rpm, and you get a good video card and sound card.

Can you sit down, or does your anus still hurt too much?? ;) j/k

For that kind of money, you could've went all SCSI, Geforce 3, Klipsch 4.1 instead of 2.1...

A lot of people think they can build a system as well as Alienware, but the truth is that most of them can't. But to answer your question, all Dell computers (maybe expect for their graphic workstations) are put together sloppily. I would easily choose Alienware over Dell. Oh, does you system have the new case that has "Alienware" written on it in large letters?

Oh for the love of God, Alienware is better! Sh!t, people can't give a straight answer. Dell is cool for a businesses and even homes but I like what Alienware puts in there systems better. If money was NOT an option (and you ONLY had those two choices) I'd definitely go with Alienware. You've got a nice system but with that P4 2.0GHz system I would have put a GeForce 3 in it. ;)

I could have built a faster and cheaper system but like you said, the ONLY two choices were Dell or Alienware.

Neither. If your going to buy from an oem for whatever reason the choice is VooDoo. They have the best support and very clean builds. I must say you do get what you pay for with them. Raul.. are you listening?

Please enlighten us on how they build systems better than anybody out there... Do you think they have this wonderful machine that you throw a few pounds of metal in, press a button and a shiny computer comes out the other end? They're built the same way all computers are built, by people like you and me.

I agree on one thing though, they do use top notch components. The problem is there's nothing special in their computers that you can't find somewhere else for half the price.

The guys at Voodoo do make superb systems, but has anyone ever noticed that there are silly grammatical errors seemingly everywhere on their web site?

EDIT: You might want a monitor with that GamePC system.

DOUBLE EDIT: and some speakers

the reason I put GeForce 2 instead of GeForce 3 was because I was going to take out the video card anyway and insert ATI's All In Wonder Radeon so I could capture Tv.

The AlienWare system would slaughter the dell system.

A GeForce2GTS vs a GeForce2MX? No contest.

P4 2.0Ghz with a GF2MX hahahahahahaha what a joke.
