Hoisted by his own guitar (petards)

Apparently that's from Shakespeare. It seems that gunpowder did change the face of Europe but it took a while. In Shakespeare's time, a petard would be a smallish container, probably a sack, filled with black powder and used to blow a hole in walls or say, a wooden portcullis.

But fusing it seems was notoriously unpredictable - hence the phrase.

Had Mikey D's for the first time in, quite literally, years. Deux fromage burgers. They tossed in a free burger. Very yummy, but then, so is crack.

Morning nef. Feels weird to get up in middle of night but went to bed at 1pm last night. Start day shift today, so super short turn around. Normally I go to bed when I finish my last night but couldn't really do that if I had to be up early today.

I was browsing books on Amazon about C++ data structures, and this review on one book jarred me out.

"If you do have to use this, you will suffer but you will learn."
