Zydrunas Ilgauskus for the no. 2 overall pick in the draft?

"The talk is the Cavaliers would like a center like Jamaal Magloire, but the Bucks might not want to trade in the division. The Bulls could probably get Zydrunas Ilgauskas for the No. 2 draft pick.
-- Chicago Tribune"

I want whatever they've been snorting at the chicago tribune news-room...seriously, I know it's just a rumor, but still......

I think the only guarantee in the draft is that Atlanta will royally screw up their pick.

and the celtics will take another over-rated foreign white guy, and then i'll climb to the top of the prudential and put a 50mm slug in danny ainge's brain stem....but yeah, that and Atlanta screwing up their pick

That would be the most idiotic trade in NBA history.. Unless of course David Stern and his cronies in the NBA want Cleveland to improve so that God (Lebron) can be overhyped even more.

WTF, are the Bulls front office brain dead ??
Hes an aging 30yr old with an oft injured bad foot.

there are rumors swirling about a sign and trade that would send Ben Wallace to Chicago, in a deal involving that #2 pick. it would make sense considering the dissention in the lockerroom and Skile's penchant for defense. it wouldn't really make sense to trade Ben to a division rival, though. so take it FWIW.

And to think Detroit can draft Darco Jr. with the number 2 pick!! A force to be reckoned with for years!!

lol, i'm fairly certain that Joe D will make good use of the pick. the Pistons could really use an athletic swingman who can get to the basket and slash......which i hear this draft is loaded with.

Wow, that would actually make so much sense.

The Bulls would get someone to help them out right away, maybe even Eastern Conf contender.

The Pistons would be excused from signing an aging player to rediculous amount of money cause they get a high draft pick.
While this will make the Pistons lesser of a team, at least they can keep most of their nucleous and a high draft pick to work into their rotation.

Just my personal opinion that the Pistons woul love this deal because it get them off the hook from signing Big Ben to a big contract.
I know the Piston would only want Ben for 3-4 yrs top and hes looking to break the bank for 6 yrs.

Umm I can't recall Ainge drafting a single foreign-white guy since he has been here.

Al Jefferson, Marcus Banks, Kendrick Perkins, Gerald Green, the other Greene, and Ryan Gomes....

Anyway, I'd trust Ainge with the draft, as he has shown he is an excellent talent evaluator

for which part. Dump Z for #2 pick? or giving up #2 pick for Z? Cavs wanting Jamaal?

I can see the Cavs wanting Jamaal. He's younger and hasn't had injury problems like Z. And most of all cheaper. The Cavs gave Z a huge contract. at 30 yrs old, they might not be so happy with it no more.

If the Cavs can dump Z for the #2 pick more power to them.

Now the bulls giving up the #2 pick for Z that's just plain stupid. Why take on a old guy with a fat contract.

Ah you see that too huh. I swear the minute Kobe who had the good guy image going got busted for adultery, Stern crapped on him and instantly went to Lebron.

Z is over-rated b/c there are no good centers left in the league besides 1 or 2 guys

he's not worth his contract, and def not a #2

BTW, I'm a Magic fan and thank you for Darko.
Just imagine if they still have Darko, there would be so much pressure to resign Big Ben.

I don't know if you ever watch any Magic games after the trade but the guy is a blocking machine. I didn't know he was any close to that good on defense.

Imagine they didn't want to give Ben such a big contract, they can easilysign and trade him for somebody and still have Darko and Rasheed in the middle....they wouldn't lose much....don't know what Dumar was thinking and Thank You for repaying the debt. I got a defective item and we weren't allow to return...just not fair.

Uhh... the Cavs would be the braindead ones for pulling off a deal like that.

You're not going to get a player in this draft who can do what Ilgauskas does... at least not for the next few years.

ouch, low blow.

i don't mind Wade as much, because NO GM would have taken him w/ that pick......however drafting a big guy like Chris Bosh would have been real nice 🙁

Z is a slow ass center, they need someone moderately faster.

however, if Garnett came to the Cavs, like he wanted to, that would be amazing.

i'm still convinced that Darko will pan out to be a pretty good player. i'm glad Orlando fans can at least see that he's got tons of natural skills and he's just so agile for a seven footer, right?

I think it's a good idea to dump him. A lot of teams would really like someone like him, but Z is holding them back in the playoffs. He simply can't perform in the playoffs, whether because he's worn out after a long season or simply doesn't have it in him. But he is great in the regular season. A lot of teams wouldn't mind someone like that.

I don't know about magloire. He hasn't really done that much for the bucks.

I can't imagine detroit giving up wallace. But it might be hard to keep 4 players happy, all of whom are important to the team (Billups, Rip, Tayshaun, and Wallace). Everyone else is more or less expendable.

exactly. it's going to be a PR nightmare if the Pistons sign and trade Ben. i can imagine stories being leaked about Ben being a cancer in the lockerroom and fans being really upset that the "face" of the franchise is gone.

but i think that the Pistons want to pay Ben his money for being underpaid all these years. however with his offensive limitations being glaring this playoffs, the public slamming of his coach (during the playoffs, too), and his age.....finding a way out of Ben's contract could be best for both parties. i, for one, would be sad to see him go.

Did you mis-read my comments ?.
We love Darko here....the next twin tower with Howard.
My last statement refer to Grant Hill, broken item that we couldn't return.

i'm agreeing with you. "i'm still convinced" is in light of the Pistons trading him away and everyone labeling him a bust.
