anyone have any opinions on this HTIB/soundbar speaker set?

http://www.zvoxaudio.com/cgi-bin/category/shelf-mount

I've been hearing some excellent things about them and want to know if anyone here has any experience with any of the ZVOX products...yes I know they are not true surround sound systems but I'm looking for something which is better then using my HDTV's built in speakers...also I don't want to invest ina full 5.1 Home Theatre setup as of now due to space constraints (I live in an apartment) and financial constraints

apparently the audio quality on the ZVOX is excellent and has been getting a lot of good reviews...also are there any soundbar systems that have a built in DTS/Dolby decoder without the need for a separate decoder box?

I think you might have more luck if you just created a new thread about what HTIB / Soundbar / etc. others would recommend up to a certain budget, then compare reviews and comments here and the web to reviews at the Zvox website and decide what type of sound you want.

I have never heard the Zvox products, just stumbled across a mention of their products somewhere on the web.

Good luck!

It's a $300 HTIB. The fact that it's all in a single box doesn't change that. Anyone who thinks the audio quality is "excellent" is either basing that on price or hasn't heard a decent HT setup before.

Check out eBay. Zvox has some open box and cosmetically blemished units at nice prices (Microsoft CashBack, currently 14%, can also reduce your cost basis).

I just bought an open box Zvox 415 for $301 shipped after 14% cash back.

I'd google for Zvox 315 / 325 / 425 to get a better idea of their house sound. I bought the 415 after reading this review of 425: http://www.avrev.com/home-thea...nd-speaker-system.html

edit: another good commentary on Zvox 41/425: http://2007consumertechnology....d-systems-can-you.html
