Zuni: Why does this happen?

When you insert a link or emoticon, it is inserted at the very end of what you are writing, rather than being inserted where the cursor is. This is quite inconvienent when you are quoting someone and you break up their quote to respond line by line. You have to cut and then paste. If you want to to post a link or emoticon, it's inserted all the way at the bottom.

Can this be fixed? Or is there a reason this happens that Im not aware of?

I've complained about this before. Zuni said it had something to do with the insertion applet not knowing where the cursor is sitting, so it simply appends to the end of your text.

I'm sure if he could fix it, it would have been resolved by now.

Welcome to the limitations of javascript. Can't go into much more detail without getting technical but its a limitation of JS.
