zuni, somebody... quick question

Rallispec

Lifer
okay... a quick question about subscriber accounts--

if i'm logged into my subscriber account, but not logged into my forum account-- does it still show me as logged on, and will it update my last logon time?

Subscriber account = Forums account.

Being a subscriber simply gives you access to the Subscriber servers; it's not as if they are two separate accounts.

You will be displayed as logged on amd will update your last logon time.

Okay.. thanks for the reply Andy, i have a question about that though:

When i'm logged in as a subscriber. I go up to the "logout" button under the 'navigation' menu and click on it. then it logs me out of my user account, however i'm still on the subscriber server. I can close out IE and open it back up and load up the forums, and i'll still be on the subscriber server.. however not actually logged in as my user account. I cant post messages, my custimazation options aren't loading.. etc...

when i go to post a message it says "please enter your login information to post"

so that made me think that thier are two separate accounts... and i was just wondering that if when i hate that logout button, if i'm completely being logged out or not.

Why, who you trying to avoid? 😉

not so much as trying to avoid people.. i was just wondering if i could browse the forums at subscriber speeds without actually being logged in... no real reason actually.. just curious i guess.

One issue this does raise is: If you're logged in to the Subscriber server presumably to browse the forums at Subscriber speeds, but NOT actually logged into the forums(so you can't read PMs, reply, etc.) then in a potential For Sale/Trade type situation, if the Forums report you as being logged in, but you're not actually fully logged in, then people could get the mistaken impression that you're avoiding them when you're really not. :Q 😕

I hope that made sense..

NOTE: Edited for a number of typos I noticed on re-reading the thread. 😱

Basically, my point.

Actually I think you're wrong :Q.

Just to see I logged off on the subscriber server on Mozilla and opened IE which does not have the cookie for access. Then I went to the regular non subscriber forums. Five minutes later, it showed me as offline. Then I went back into Mozilla and cleared my cookies, allowing me to log into the subscriber server but not be logged in to the forums. IE still showed me as offline, even after waiting for about 5 minutes. Then I logged into the forums and I was instantly online in IE. So unless something really strange happened, the two accounts are seperate.

when you sign into the subscriber account, you don't automatically get logged into the forums... you have to log in once again for the forums...

yeah.. thats the exact same thing that happens to me. And i've checked my profile and it doesnt change my last logon time-- so i guess that answers my first question.. i just wanted to make sure somebody had the same results as me.
