Zune Update: version 2.5

The high points are the new Zune Card integration and the addition of TV show downloads on Zune Marketplace, but much-requested features like gapless playback, improved syncing controls, meta data editing, auto playlists and other tweaks have also been included.

Installed....can't log into my account in the zune software now. Have had 3 or 4 different error messages.
Haven't had a chance to check out new features yet.

nevermind spoke too soon. I guess it was doing some kind of library scan or something in the background slowing it down. Running like normal now. Will check out the new stuff now..

Ok the social stuff is now awesome. Before it would only show tracks that were purchasable but now any song will show regardless. All those blog tracks and stuff I grab show up now.

Plus you can finally edit the ID3 tags.. took long enough. And there are tons of sync options now. Really decent update.

um..... my Zune won't update? I launch the Zune software, and it doesn't do anything. Won't login either.
btw, is this a software or firmware update, or both? Because that gapless playback I really want on my Zune.

Hey I noticed things were different on the Zune site this morning....when I loaded up the software it wouldn't sign me in unless I re-did some newsletter choices on the Zune website. They also auto-populated my profile with some "friends".

I had a suspicion that maybe they had updated the software, but mine was still v2.3.x. Even tried the internal update checker. Maybe I checked the website before the software release was rolled out.

I'll have to check this out when I get home.

Very impressive software update. Some notable feature requests that were granted, that I've noticed so far:

* OTF audio file transcoding during sync -- no more maintaining mirror collection of mp3s for my lossless files
* Genre "view"
* Autoplaylists
* Masstagging

This should have been the software when the Zune was released. 2 years behind.. someone has to pick it up.

I didn't even know they let you sort my Genre in the new update.... I've been waiting for that since this new software was released... thanks
