Zune Software Questions

So, anyone that has read my first thoughts on WP7 knows that I am not that crazy about the Zune Software, but I am willing to work with it.

Here are a couple simple problems that I am having, that hopefully have a simple fix.

1: I created an auto-playlist, 1500 songs, randomly selected, to be synced to my phone. However, I cannot figure out how to exclude things. I have a couple of audiobooks that should not be synced to the phone, especially not piecemeal if at all. I don't want to delete the audiobooks since a: I might want to you know, listen to them again and b: I have the Zune Software grab files from my iTunes library so I don't have to maintain 2 libraries.

So, how do I either exclude files from an auto-playlist, or mark files such that they cannot be added to auto-playlists.

2: Is there any way to keep the Zune Software from re-creating the playlist every time I sync the phone. Perhaps setting some sort of control on it, so I could have multiple auto-playlists that refresh on different schedules.

Not sure on part 2 but I think for part 1 you could use the genre exclude option (its the only drop down that you can select exclude). Just make sure your audio books have a consistent genre tagged and then exclude it and you should be good to go.

I will have to try that when I get home, see if that works. Thanks.

As was suggested above use the genre to exclude certain things.....

If you want a static playlist just create a normal playlist (and not an auto playlist).
I don't know of a way to prevent an autoplaylist from rebuilding itself but the point of a random autoplaylist is to constantly change (otherwise its just a normal playlist).

Can I create randomly generated playlists that are not auto-playlists? Then I could have a couple of large random playlists, and a couple of smaller random playlists that rotate.
