Anyone who says they like the Zune's interface is fooling themself and no one else.

Zune's interface is great. I like it better than the iPod's locked crap.

It makes sense if you've used one. Sorry but I don't really know how to put it into words, maybe someone else can.

Ok imagine you click on Music from the main menu, you see a list of artists from A-Z. You can scroll up/down through this list, or you can hit left/right to show Albums, Songs, or playlists.

Say you pick an artist, it then shows a list of albums by that artists that you can scroll up/down, or hit left/right to go to a different artist.

You pick an album and then you have a list of songs you can scroll up/down, or change album left/right.

Also, I do have an xbox that I love... I can put my zune music on my xbox???

IMO, neither sounds better then the other. Most headphones or cars that people listen in don't have the quality enough to discern the difference between one compression scheme to another.

I prefer the Zune because I like buttons. I absolutely hate the clickwheel thingy and I don't like the iPod's interface. It runs great, it's fast, it's got a big bright screen, and the black/blue double-shot color is awesome. Plus, it fits perfect in the little cubby space below my stereo in my truck

The Zune interface follows the MCE conventions. It's by far faster and easier for me to use then the iPod UI. I says you full of it.

One more question. My wife and I both want our own Zune / Ipod. I know that profiles wouldn't be a problem if we used different products. If we both had a Zune or both had an Ipod, does the software / store allow profiles on a computer. I don't want her music mixed in with mine.

Thank you,

You can goto the doller store and buy stuff for your Ipod, zune you're limited huge. They might be nice, but Ipod works, its sweet, and the amount of accessories and things that are adaptable to Ipod is insane...

I have an FJ Cruiser with an auxillary input (looks like the female side of coupling for ear buds). That would work with both I'm assuming?

Thank you,

Whenever I fire up the Zune software, my device is identified by name (you name your Zune during the initial setup). I'm not sure if it can and will differentiate between devices under the same user profile though.

If the software works like other Windows apps, you shouldn't have a problem if you and your GF have seperate user accounts.

Again I'm not positive since I've only got one Zune.

As for the iPod, no clue. Never had one.

cool thanks for the input. Now I may wait a month (hopefully less) because I hear the 80 Gb Zune is on the way 2.0?

Anyone know when the new Zune should show up?

If you were interested in an iPod, new ones will more than likely be out before Christmas. The new Zune should show up at about the same time. You have to figure they will show up 1-2 months before Christmas in order to sell as many as possible.

Whichever player has more storage space in the next couple months will get my money. There should be a new Zune + new iPod so we'll see what happens.

From what I've read, Microsoft will have a flash based Zune by Christmas too, and they will have something like 70% of production being on the flash based side. Also the new Zunes will be a new design and not a copy of the Toshiba Gigabeat:S in a different box. Other than a larger capacity, idk if there will be any other improvements.

I got an iPod in 2005, then the Zune was released.
My friend got a Zune and I like them both.
iTunes- iPod integration is superior,
but I would love subscription music.
If you say that I live for 60 years more, that would be $10800 for a lifetime of music @15/month for 60 years.
Managing a huge CD library can be hard. Especially if you move a lot.
With subscription, I can get the latest technology. In the latest device, in the latest connection.
For example- If, in 20 years, internet music quality is better than lossless today, which is probable, I am not stuck with the same CDs.
And, if my CDs get destroyed by a freak accident, I cant replace them easily.
If I stop paying the Zune Store in 10 years, go to the latest medium.
Thats why I want a Zune.
Plus, the 3inch screen rocks!

But no WMA Lossless. I think.

Woot.com just made your choice for you, op.

Good deal. Is Woot credible? Also can you get any other color than white?

Yes, and probably not.

crap.. what was the deal? I was out of town yesterday and now they have a camera :(

It was $150 for a new White Zune.

Amazon has them for between 200 and 210 new (depending on color).
