zune HD questions

Is it normal to have the ZUNE HD's text be cut off? I ask because my gf just got one and the "Marktplace" icon has cut off at the "e". Is this normal?

Also, is it normal to have the screen flicker when it is completely white?

Question 1) Yes. That's Microsoft's "Metro" UI. Things get cut off sometimes intentionally.

Question 2) No, sounds like a hardware defect.

"Metro" UI? Or, "Oh, oops, text is too big....oh well, not enough design money to fix".

As for No. 2, it looks like it's gonna be returned. I guess that is what happens when you buy from Cowboom.

They use that UI style across a few products - in most situations, when text is cut off, it indicates that there is more if you swipe to that side. Why they did it on the home screen, where there is in fact nothing over there, I don't know.
