I never said that the Zune was failing. I own a Zune and I love it. Personally, I don't give a crap about Halo but it's always so funny how quickly iPod fanbois jump on the Zune sucks bandwagon. Check out any Zune thread on here and it's hilarious.

I think it looks pretty sweet... and I'm really not that big of a fan of the game.

I mean, as an alternative, they could have paid off some artist to put all of their music on a zune then give it some fugly colors and promote the ****** out of it to apparently help it sit on shelves better. Sounds kinda familiar...

It was voted Engadget's worst gadget of the year and is sitting on retailer's shelves, with little demand. I think it's failing.

I'm all for options, I like and have owned iRiver (when they were sonic blue), Archos, Creative, Toshiba, Apple, and Sandisk mp3 players - i'm not an apple fan boy, I just don't like the zune...

Okay... then we'll take your opinion on the Zune's functionality when you add it to your list.

After the XBox, Microsoft knows a few things about entering a market that's already dominated by another product. The big beef that most people have with the Zune is that it's not an iPod. Most people are so hung up on the iPod that they immediately discount the zune as crap and don't give it a fair chance. Yes, it has its flaws. I'm not going to lie. Yeah, there are probably more flaws than the iPod. But you have to put things in perspective and realize that Apple is on what, their 6th generation of iPods? You can't expect the Zune to get it perfect the first try when there are so many people out there that have product loyalty and always point out things that aren't the same about the Zune as flaws. God forbid MS try a few new things. Give it time and a fair chance before bashing it. If you haven't used one it really doesn't matter what you think of it, does it?

And for the record, I own both iPod and Zune (and work cross platform, so you can't say I'm a fan boy of either company.)

I think it looks pretty neat, assuming it doesn't cost any more than a standard Zune. If I were in the market for an mp3 player I would definitely consider it.

Plus, it's aimed at Halo fans. Some of them may just be hitting the age where they have a job and spending money. This is a perfect hook for them.
