Such an awesome speaker. Requires almost no power to get LOUD. Not the most accurate or neutral sounding speaker at all but it just made me want to dance. Put in an order on some dirty weekend Omens in Electric Blue. Will be basing my new HT system in the living room around these.

For that price, they better be.

I have listed to more expensive speakers that sounded like crap to me. The old B&W 700 series comes to mind. $1000 is not really a whole lot at all for some decent speakers.

I haven't heard the Omen yet but they make some fantastic products...and usually one of the most entertaining rooms at conventions they attend.

That's a great start to your system. :D

Yeah I am coming from SVS MBS-01 which I have had for 6 years. I have owned Mirage, Dali, Energy, and Epos in the past and there is just something about the Zu's that put a smile on my face. My MBS are pretty neutral speakers and I said to myself that I was done reading graphs and would throw measurements out the window and just find a speaker that's just flat out fun to listen to.

What are you thinking for gear? With Zu's typical high efficiency you can have a lot more options (tube, fully class A, etc).

Never been a fan of tube amps really and always had SS. I am thinking a Marantz SR5008. Will be ordering the matching center as well eventually but have to do in-ceiling for the surrounds. For subs was just going to keep it simple with 2x of the Ultimax 15 kits from parts express powered via an inuke 3000dsp with REW.

Right now I am comparing the features of the SR5008 and SR6008 and seeing what the real difference is.

I have quite a bit to figure this out as Zu is slammed with orders right now so it's going to be at least 4-6 weeks before they get to mine.

zu seems like a really cool brand. Damn you. I really want to try a pair some time. Make sure to post your thoughts once you do get them.
