ZR1 vs GT2

I'd love to walk out to my garage in the morning and have to decide which one of those 2 I wanted to drive that day. :heart:

Those are the same bozos who UTTERLY botched the Z06 face-off previously. ZR-1 should do the 1/4 in low 11's, even high 10's with the right driver / warm tires.

At least this time was more believable. That last one was just laughable though.

Yeah. At first I thought that the ZR1's tires were spinning due to the slow start but looking at it further, that doesn't seem to be the case. The driver was clearly sleeping.

Given that this is TWO botched Vette vs. Porsche races they've done, I think they're sandbagging the Chevy.

I just don't understand the stupid amatuerish dishonesty like that. Spreading FUD as a supposedly legitimate review or comparison.

Personally, I prefer the Porsche GT2, but undeniably with proper showdowns the Z06 should be about neck and neck with the GT2, and the ZR1 should just dominate it.

If you want a real laugh, look at all the stock Z06's running ridiculously fast times, then re-watch the old Z06 vs. GT2 video. It's a fucking joke.

Looks like at the start the guy in the ZR1 does not even know how to shift.

But Motor Trend has these specs when they tested them together...

ZR1 = 0-100 mph, sec 6.9
ZR1 = Quarter mile 11.2 sec @ 130.5 mph

GT2 = 0-100 mph, sec 7.3
GT2 = Quarter mile 11.4 sec @ 127.9 mph

Not saying the GT2 is a bad car but the ZR1 is faster if you have good drivers in both.

Yeah, the 0-100mph times they got were really telling.

I'd love to have either one, though I've always been a Porsche fanboi since seeing the 959. This is coming from someone that purchased a GM recently instead of an European or Japaneses car.

The ZR1 driver was a fucking pussy, and a shit driver. Honestly, I could get a better start off the line than he could, and he's supposedly a "professional." I don't know why English car mag reviewers have a huge stick up their ass about American performance cars, even Clarkson loved the ZR1 for what it was--a true Ferrari beater for half the price and the same amount of comfort. But going back to the English car reviewers with twiggy asses, it's pretty obvious they deliberately botched the start to give the GT2 a head start, or they're like "This guy on our staff has never driven a manual before, let's give it him and have him review it."

Personally, I'd take the GT2, simply because I'm a huge sports car fan, and I love porsche's styling. That, and I'm not in a mid life crisis. 😛

Man, that's some weak ass camera work. You can't even see who's in front for most of the race. Why would you put the camera in the back?

I'll take the GT2, thanks. American muscle cars do nothing for me.

Well, TBH, the ZR1 is a proper sports car. Yes, it does have a heap of HP, but it also is very light, has some of the best brakes ever put on a road car, and is free of the permanent nanny-features that are present on some 'sports' cars. It's closer to an actual race car than a 'muscle' car, which are typically mass-market vehicles that have whopping big motors shoved in them, with little regard for balance, handling, braking, or other fairly important bits.

GT500 = Muscle car
Challenger SRT = Muscle car
Vette ZR1 = Sports car
Viper ACR = Sports car
