Is this card worth getting at 659.00

I am running a R9 290 right now at 2560X1080 and it gets by OK but I am planning to got to 3440X1440P in April.

I would prefer an ASUS Strix but the price a lot higher. Would this ZOTAC be close to the ASUS in quality?

Thanks

I can't really comment on the latest ZOTAC cards (20xx series) but in the past the biggest complaint has been they have loud fans compared to others, now part of that might be due to running higher speeds out of the box and part might be fan design....
Aside from that ZOTAC is a decent brand as far as quality goes, and to be fair they have been around a long time so I personally don't have a reason to not recommend it.

That's their mid range model so the cooling won't be as good as the higher end models or the Strix.

With the Turning cards the cooler they stay the higher the clocks will stay.

As far as quality goes, no it's not even close to the Strix, the Strix is a high end card, the ZOTAC gaming is not. The Strix has MUCH better cooling also.

If you are planning on getting a 3440x1440P monitor than you really need to be looking at the 2080Ti's, that's VERY close to 4K resolution.

I agree with jankerson. With a 3440x1440 monitor, a 2080Ti is a must!

I'm currently running my first Zotac card, GTX 1080 AMP, and the fans are kind of loud but not nearly as bad as the stock blowers are. I'm also running at 3440x1440 and I don't have any issues with games or productivity software, however, the newest hardware will always deliver the best performance.

The card seems solid so I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one from them because when you get down to it they're all made by the same OEM's and rebranded along with a tailored bios.
