I remember this time last year i got a Zotac Geforce 8800GTS 320mb for $79. That was definitely a steal back then.

I dont mean to say anything bad about this deal, but there are deals for the 4830 (which is faster and Oc's better) for this and even a little bit cheaper.

No doubt this is the best deal if you want to SLI.

I did a lot of looking last night, and I think this also qualifies as the best deal for someone who prefers Nvidia under $100 as well.

The 9500GT for about $20 less is just a laugh when comparing their performance, and the 9600GTs have crept up closer to $100.

Just be sure to have a decent power supply too :)

Even Ati 4830 is faster, the advantage of 9800GT is the CUDA H264 encoding. I have the old 8800GT, running Badaboom 1.1 with H264 main profile, the speed is way faster than a Powerful CPU, and the output is much better than the shitty output of Ati card.

Anyone checked out the text of the rebate form ?
"Rebate will start to be accepted 30 days from time of purchase and up to 15 days there after"

WTF ? I really DON'T know what they meant by that, but it seems to say that you have to wait and send the rebate in between 30 days after purchase but before 45 ! Combine that with the strict conditions they impose such as "I agree to accept the qualification decisions of ZOTAC USA as final", etc and I'm nervous. I have it in my cart ! Need to find time to make phone calls.

OK, it's basically a 6 week window. They WILL accept the rebate within 30 days, but the concept is to let you try the product out before you cut the box up. If you have a problem, such as a DOA or want to return for some other reason, they're letting you have plenty of time to find out before you cut the box apart and can't return the card. It's painted as customer-friendly, but certainly confusing. Again, the CSR guy DID say that they WILL accept the rebate before a month.

Well that solves my dilemna about how to ship it when I'm going to be out of town. Still a good deal for a 9800GT.
