Can I simultaneously output the same signal through the digital audio (coax or hdmi) and analog? Looking at my desktop set up, it seems like in the program you have to choose if you're outputting to "Speakers" or SPDIF. My Onkyo 705 has a Zone 2 feature I use for playing the outdoor patio speakers, but only analog signals can be sent to Zone 2 (ridiculous imo).

I think this depends on the drivers and the operating system. I believe the devices itself should be capable of outputting both at the same time. However, in Windows Vista, you have to choose one device as your "default" and I cannot hook both my analog speakers and my receiver up at the same time and hear audio at the same time. I have to choose one device to be the default. It seems to me you might have better luck using HDMI since it can output audio and video on the same cable. I would like to know the answer to this question.
