First pics I took outside with my new FZ35. Hand-held while standing on a bridge to see how well the image stabilization work and zoom work. Intelligent Auto mode. Point and shoot.

Wide-angled vs full telephoto (18x zoom). Photos resized from 4000x3000 to 2000x1500.

Nice! What kind of zoom do you got on there?

I wish my camera had a decent zoom. It's just a 4x, still better then my older one that had a 2x.

I was expecting way worse at the 18x end. The 18x center sharpness is surprisingly good for a point and shoot, but you can see the sharpness drop off noticeably almost as soon as you get out of the middle 20% of the frame. Still, better than what I was expecting.

Nice, Impressive sharpness in the middle of the frame at 18x. Looks soft at the edges but if you are zooming in you're usually not worrying too much about the edges. Gotta love the panasonic point and shoot lineup, truly excellent.

Really good shots, very good for handheld.
I don't think they're soft at all. Those are even better than some DSLR kit lens or cheap Zoom lens (anything <$500) LOL
