Staples is selling the Zoom ISA hardware based 2919 modem for $55.99. Use one of the $20 off $50 coupons available at techbargains and the total comes to $35.99. Add tax if necessary.
Since the total is over $50, shipping is free.
The description at Staples.com indicates that this is a PCI modem but I called and confirmed that the model is the 2919 which is hardware based ISA.

The new 2919 is using Lucent chipsets vs. Rockwell in the past. I don't know which is better but the old Rockwell was well respected.

UPDATE:
I received my modem today and it is indead a WIN-MODEM! I called Staples and they confirmed that the web site is wrong. This is very frustrating since I went through the trouble of calling Staples before I ordered to confirm the part number. I asked for my money back. Sorry to anyone else that ordered one of these.

The other Zoom modem that Staples sells is a winmodem. Hardware modems are better because they do not use the cpu as a controller.

great deal on a hardware modem. I printed out a copy of the picture showing model 2919 so if it turns out different i guess it is return time. Thanks!!

I'm using this very modem right now! I bought it from Staples for $4 back in the good old days with a $76 off $76 "coupon". Yes, it uses a Lucent chipset but it is hardware based. I have been extremely pleased with it. Connection speeds are just as fast as any other modem I've used and it holds connections fine. Pings are as low (<150ms) as they were with my old Rockwell based modem.

This is a highly recommended buy if you're stuck with a crappy Winmodem!

Yo man, I just got mine today and it's not the ISA model 2919 that Nessism said it was. It's a cheap freaken PCI WinModem that only works under windows. I should have checked myself. DAMNIT!!

I seen this coming a few days ago... As I have been through the deal before. I took mine back to B&M and showed them the page with the pic of the 2919 and after they checked their website and confirmed that I had not altered the printed page they swapped them out even. BTW I left the "wrong" that was shipped in the shrinkwraping so I would at least be able to return it hassle free had they refused to pony up the difference in cost.

I have a receipt if it will be of any help I'll scan it.
