So, anyone waiting to bite on this deal might be interested in the following info:
1. If you don't have a battery, they MAY deduct $25 from the tradein value, but they didn't say it would definitely happen.
2. There was a recent pricedrop across the board on VAIO lappys at Zones, see if you might be able to get some more money off (I did :) )

My emails all showed as $0 on the confirmation. Who knows.

OP was wrong, deal ended 11/30.

Ya, OP was wrong on this one.

Got this response from sony customerservice "Notebooks purchases must be made before 11/30/2006. The Proof of purchase must be received no later than 1/31/2007 and your trade-in product shipped before 12/31/2007."

They revised the promotion without notice. But their response is kind of weird as well, before 12/31/2007?

The battery life is really bad on the bx560. Would changing to a different battery help this? Its like 2 hours with low light and an hour with regular.

This isn't news but it requires action on the purchaser to receive - If you bought certain Sony models on or after 10/26/06 you can get a free or reduced cost upgrade to Vista. The details can be found here.

After providing proof of purchase the Vista upgrade will ship once it is officially released. (i.e. don't expect anything until mid-Feb if you submit everything early)
