Does ZoneAlarm only block IP traffic or would it block local NetBeui traffic too?

If it does is there an "allow" seeting like there is for TCP/IP?

Nope, ZA doesn't block NetBeui. ZA is a firewall to designed to block/pass traffic to/from the internet, thus is TCP/IP aware only.

I wouldn't suggest using NetBeui at all as long you have TCP/IP, IMO it's better just to use TCP/IP instead of having NetBeui enabled for your windows network.

There are many here who would vehemently disagree with this statement. I for one have a small home network, one XP box, the other running Win 98. TCP/IP file sharing was intermittant to say the least, sometimes on, sometimes off. Since I took Jacks advice and switched to NetBEUI I have NEVER had a problem with my network.

Did I mention I have NEVER had a problem with NetBeui? How many people can say that about TCP/IP sharing?
