I'm trying to run ZoneAlarm on a Win 2k machine with internet connection sharing.

It runs fine when logged in as admin but when anyone else is logged in ICS does not work. When any other user is logged in, the local ip address window in ZA is blank and you can't enter anything manually. I'm assuming this is the problem because if I shut off ZA, it works fine regardless of the user that is logged in.

Anyone using this setup that has found a way around this?

Thx

I cannot access the internet if ZA is up on my gateway machine by a client machine sharring a DSL connection thru a hub.
Even though I added its IP address as a member of the group, ZA blocks any INet connection by IE unless I set the security settings to minimal. But what good is that.
I see that other firewalls seem to work according to posts here. Might have to try those.

EDIT: Went to ZA site and followed their recommendations. That is to add the addresses of my IP server and its gateway address.
Also the main problem that I did not realize: If you select the STOP, it messes up things for Internet access, even if you take it off.
After i reset and added the IP addresses for my provider (Directvdsl which gives me a static ip), set security to MEDIUM, rebooted and the client can now access and share. NOTE: the client can also run ZA with its Security set at HIGH for Internet access.

Norton's Personal Firewall did work without this confusion, but it was not as clear to what it was doing (ZA has better display of what is going on and its settings).
