ZoneAlarm problem with Firefox??

Hello,

I have windows 7 x86 with ZA free 9.2 and firefox 3.6.4.
The problem I'm having is I cant view chats on blogtv.com using firefox. Works fine in IE.
I can turn off ZA and it will then work in firefox.

I launched blogtv.com in IE and ran netstat -na in a cmd prompt and it shows port 1935 open which is correct according to blogtv's help section, in firefox with ZA on it shows port 80 open which is wrong and is causing the problem.

I have tried reinstalling both firefox and ZA and it didnt help.

any ideas?

thanks

Port 80 is your standard http port. While I don't know how blogtv works, my instinct says that Firefox is tunneling the traffic through port 80. Some quick research shows that firefox doesn't, by default, like to use non-standard ports. There are ways to add secrurity exceptions in the about:config page.

Before you go that route tough. IMHO seriously consider your continued use of ZoneAlarm. I've found that program (and most 3rd party firewall programs) to be nothing but a buggy POS.
