Zonelabs released a Zonealarm for the 64bit OS, I have been waiting for a while for this application to get released and a BETA is better then nothing. I have been using the BETA for a few days now, and its been working flawlessly. It's free so if anyone has 64bit Windows and wants a real good firewall that doesn't take up much resources, well head of too www.zonelabs.com and download it for free.

Thanks.

(Hope this isn't a double-post, if so sorry.)

I'd be decently excited if I had a 64bit OS... alas I don't. Still good to know though.

hdeck, it has been working great for me so far. I have just the firewall running and have not had any issues at all, one thing i'm a bit confused on is that it's a 64bit firewall, but it installed into the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, which is weird because it's supposed to be a native 64bit application.

Actually on my last post I said it was working great, but let me take that back. Since using it I have been getting blue screen crashes that refer to the file vsdatant.sys, which is a file that has to do with Zonealarm. Since it is a BETA, this I guess should of been expected. I uninstalled it and now I am using AVG plus Firewall for now, until Zonealarm officially releases their 64bit version, instead of BETA. Just giving a head's up to anyone who took my advice and is using it, it might not happen to you but if it does, don't worry its just Zonealarm. I originally thought my memory was going back, because of the physical dumping of my memory on the blue screen crash..lol

Just some advice mates.

Is it reliable and does it really keep people and certain software out of your computer? I mean I have never kept it enabled, so I have no experience with it.

You are referring to Windows firewall within Windows XP Pro 64bit right?

O.K. Might give that a shot mate, thanks for the suggestion. I don't really like AVG, because for just using the firewall, I have to have like 3 services running, where Zonealarm just needed 1. That's what I really liked about Zonealarm, small resource usage but quality firewall.
